American artist and designer who began her own business called Laurel Burch Artworks in the late 1960s and created Laurel Burch Inc. in 1979.
She worked as a cook, house cleaner and babysitter in San Francisco during her teenage years.
She discovered the enamel work, cloisonne after going to China in 1971 and used it while designing earrings.
She was married three times and had a daughter and a son.
Like her, Jazmin Whitley is a fashion designer from California.
