John F. Megna was an American actor, director and teacher. His best known role is that of “Dill” in the film To Kill a Mockingbird.

About John Megna
Best remembered for his role as Dill Harris in the 1962 cinematic adaptation of the classic Harper Lee novel To Kill a Mockingbird, this child actor went on to appear in The Boy in the Plastic Bubble and Hush. . . Hush, Sweet Charlotte.
He appeared in Broadway productions of Greenwillow and All the Way Home when he was six and seven years old, respectively.
Tragically, he died of AIDS in his early forties.
The half-sibling of actress and singer Connie Stevens, he grew up in Queens and Flushing, New York, as the son of a vocalist and a pharmacist. His birth name was John Ingolia.
He appeared in two early 1980s Burt Reynolds action films: The Cannonball Run and Smokey and the Bandit II.
