Before Fame

She was a public school teacher.


She was president of the WPC and served on the executive board of the Montgomery Improvement Association, which focused on the bus boycott.

Family Life

She had eleven brothers and sisters, and was married to Wilbur Robinson.


Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was the president of the Montgomery Improvement Association, which she served on.
