Jean Darling was an American child actress who was a regular in the Our Gang short subjects series from 1927-29. Prior to her death, she was one of four surviving cast members from the silent era cast of Our Gang. At the time of her death in 2015, Darling was, along with Baby Peggy, one of the last surviving actors who worked in the silent film era.

About Jean Darling
Stage and screen actress who performed in the first Broadway production of Carousel and in the Our Gang series of silent comedy films.
Her parents divorced when she was five months old, at which point her birth name of Dorothy Jean LeVake was changed to Jean Darling. Darling started appearing in films when she was just six months old.
She played the title role in the 1934 film version of Jane Eyre.
She was married to Reuben Bowen from 1954 until his death in 1980. The couple had a son named Roy.
She and Mickey Rooney both began their Hollywood careers during the silent film era. The two nearly appeared together in one of MGM’s Andy Hardy films; however, Darling turned down the role to perform on Broadway.
