Spanish actress who has appeared in theater, film, and television. She is best recognized for having starred in the 1963 film El verdugo as well as recurring roles in the series’ Aquí no hay quien viva and La que se avecina.
She started her acting career by performing with the Maria Guerrero Theater. After several successful theater performances, she made her feature film debut in 1952 when she appeared in Los ojos dejan huellas.
She has won multiple Best Actress awards at the Medallas del Círculo de Escritores Cinematográficos for her role in the film Fortunata y Jacinta and Sentencia contra una mujer.
She is the daughter of Spanish politician Ramon Ruiz Alonso. She married film producer Emiliano Piedra and together they had three daughters: Emma, Lola, and Emiliana.
She starred alongside Maribel Verdu and Fernando Guillén-Cuervo in the 1987 feature film La estanquera de Vallecas.
