Ronald “Carl” Giles OBE, often referred to simply as Giles, was a cartoonist best known for his work for the British newspaper the Daily Express.

About Carl Giles

British cartoonist most remembered for his numerous contributions to the Daily Express. In 2000, he was voted Britain’s Favorite Cartoonist of the 20th Century.

Before Fame

He worked for a variety of small film companies in the animation department before landing his big break in 1935, working on the film The Fox Hunt.
